ものもらい”stye”…in New York
When I woke up, I felt something wrong with my right eye.
Watching a mirror, my eye was getting swollen!!!!!
oh my gosh.
It hurts and looks awful.
朝起きたら、ものもらいが出来てた。
関西で言うところの、めいぼ！！
ぷっくり腫れた右目…
昨日の夜、寝るときに目に違和感があって、嫌な予感はしていましたが…
しかもここはニューヨーク。
最悪やー。
I have medical insurance, but its procedure might be complicated.
一応保険には入ってるものの、眼科って…あるのか？どうせクソめんどくさい手続きこなさないとあかんっていうねー
I googled how to cure stye and then found an effective eyedrop called “stye eye relied”.
てことで、まずはグーグルで調べてみたところ
アメリカの薬局で簡単にものもらい用の良い目薬が手に入るとのことで、ダッシュで買いに行きました。
I rushed to buy it at pharmacy.
I had to go to the language school, but I couldn’t make it, or rather I didn’t feel like going.
So I put drops into my right eye and beck to bed.
12ドルでした。同じような見た目のパッケージがあって、惑わされたけど！Styeって書いてあるやつね。
中身はこんな感じ。透明のところを押さえたら液が出てきます。
痛くないかびびってたけど、全然痛くなかったよーん！
After that, just to make sure, I called medicinal insurance company and asked if there is a eye clinic in New York.
She said a eye clinic for Japanese was in Manhattan, but there was no Japanese staff.
And they had to negotiate with offering cashless services.
So I told her that I would wait and see, if any problem with my eye, I would call you again.
一応その後に保険会社に電話をして聞いてみたら、眼科はあるけどスタッフは日本人じゃなくて予約必要。キャッシュレスでいけるかどうかは交渉してみないと分からないということ。
代行で予約してくれるとの打診があったけれど
とりあえず市販薬で様子見て、何かあればまた連絡しますと言って電話切りました。
メバチコくらいで貴重な午後のクラス休みたくなかったから頑張って行きました。
I did want to attend the afternoon class, I decided to go to school.
Unfortunately the train to the city has been under construction during off-peak time, so I had to make a detour ...
I got to school 35 minutes late...!
I’d rather keep riding a train than go to school late, but thought better of it.
I didn’t want to defeat myself!!!
なんかマンハッタン行きの電車が、工事中で最寄駅をスキップしてたから
いつもの倍くらいの時間をかけて、大遅刻で学校に到着…。
でも自分に負けたくなかったから！！
頑張ったよ、わたし。
After the afternoon class, I went to look the Statue of Liberty in a park.
I could see a tiny statue in the distance!!
It was gonna rain today but it hadn’t started raining yet.
So I got a cup of coffee, and read a book that I bought yesterday on the bench there.
帰りは自由の女神を遠目に見てから帰宅。
I wish the stye would be better tomorrow.
I really hate my face with stye!!!!
明日には治ってるといいなー。
めいぼ出来てる自分の顔が醜すぎて…
